The great migration: Gemini season opens

Four planets changed signs in five days. The sky is moving faster than it has in months. Here is what is going where, and what to do about it.

The sky has been still for weeks. Not anymore.

Between last Sunday and tomorrow, four planets change signs. Mercury into Gemini, Mars into Taurus, Venus into Cancer, and the Sun into Gemini on Thursday. Five days, four ingresses. That is the kind of pace that resets a season.

Here is what is moving, in order, and what each one is asking of you.

Mercury into Gemini — Saturday the 17th

Mercury is now home. Gemini is the sign Mercury rules, and the difference between Mercury-in-Taurus (slow, thorough, reluctant) and Mercury-in-Gemini (quick, networked, restless) is visible inside a day. Conversations speed up. Email feels less like a chore. Your mind starts running ahead of you in the shower again.

The catch: on Monday the 18th, Mercury hit Uranus, also freshly in Gemini, conjunction-exact. That is the eureka aspect. The shower thought that arrives uninvited. The text you sent because you suddenly knew. Some of those will be brilliant. Some will need editing in the morning. Both are useful.

Mars into Taurus — Monday the 18th

Mars finally left Aries after eight weeks. If the spring felt aggressive, this is why. Mars in Taurus is a slower, stubborner energy. It still wants to do things, but it wants to do them once, properly, and for a long time. This is good news for any project you have been starting and restarting. Mars-in-Taurus is the energy that actually finishes.

A note: Mars and Venus made a sextile on Tuesday, almost immediately after Mars's ingress. That is the I will commit to this if you commit too aspect. Some of you will have had a conversation this week that surprised you with how much was on the table. Keep going.

Venus into Cancer — Tuesday the 19th

Venus into Cancer turns the volume up on the home and the people inside it. Love becomes domestic, in the best sense — the long meal, the made bed, the texture of being chosen daily. If you have been avoiding a feeling about your family, your living space, or the person you go home to, Venus will surface it gently. Cancer does not shout. Cancer waits.

Sun into Gemini — Thursday the 21st

Gemini season opens. The Sun joins Mercury and Uranus in the sign of the moving mind, and the next four weeks officially belong to language, exchange, curiosity, and the small daily contact that keeps a life porous. After the long heaviness of Taurus season — the Sun-Pluto square, Uranus changing rooms, the world rearranging its furniture — Gemini is a relief.

The assignment: lighten up. Not in the dismissive sense. In the literal sense. Carry less. Say more. Let conversations be unfinished. Trust that you will pick the thread up again tomorrow, because tomorrow is also a Gemini day.

The undercurrent — Pluto retrograde

Underneath all this, Pluto is still moving backward in Aquarius. The structural work that started two weeks ago when Pluto stationed continues quietly. Gemini season will not let you ignore it, but it will let you breathe around it.

A useful frame for the week: Pluto is editing the foundations. Gemini is rearranging the furniture upstairs. Both are necessary. The trick is not to confuse one for the other.

A short note before we go: this is a week to write things down. Not for productivity. For witness. The sky is moving fast, and the texture of what changes in you over the next seven days will be hard to remember in a month if you do not catch it now. A notebook. A note in your phone. A voice memo on a walk. Whatever you have.

We will be back on Sunday with the next digest. In the meantime, the Sun is in Gemini, the windows are open, and the conversations are waiting.
